Code Ownership

A website builder with source code you can keep

Your website should remain useful after the design session ends. AlinaWeb lets you export the work, inspect the files and choose where development continues.

What code ownership means in practice

You can download the generated website files, change their content and styles, and host them outside AlinaWeb. The exported site does not need the visual editor to run. This gives businesses a path to move hosting and gives agencies a deliverable that their clients can maintain.

Full control of generated code does not change the licenses of third-party images, fonts, icons or services you include. Use assets you have permission to publish and keep their required notices. Ownership of your output and permission to redistribute outside materials are separate considerations.

Choose a handoff that suits the project

HTML export is a useful starting point for static sites and custom development. WordPress export produces an independent theme for a WordPress installation. Both give you files to work with; neither is a subscription to hosting or a guarantee that every server supports every feature.

A developer can review the exported structure, place it under version control and make targeted changes. When using an AI assistant, include the AI Handoff package as well as the website source so that the assistant has the project context.

Avoid lock-in without losing discipline

No framework or vendor lock-in means the generated website does not require an AlinaWeb runtime or Elementor. You can adopt additional tools later if your project needs them. Components may still have supporting scripts, and external services keep their own requirements.

Treat an export as a snapshot. Changes made in a code editor are not automatically synchronized back to the visual project. Preserve a working copy, compare later exports and test before replacing files on your host. This keeps manual development and visual design from accidentally overwriting each other.

Put your ideas on the canvas.
