Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data AlinaWeb handles when you use the website builder at builder.alinaweb.net, why we handle it, who it is shared with and the choices you have.

Last updated:

1. Who we are

AlinaWeb (“we”, “us”) operates the AlinaWeb visual website builder at builder.alinaweb.net. For the personal data described in this policy we are the data controller. You can contact us at support@alinaweb.net.

This policy covers the builder, your account and the public pages of builder.alinaweb.net. It does not cover the websites you build and publish yourself: you are responsible for the privacy practices of those websites.

2. Information we collect

Account information. Name, email address and a password hash if you register with a password. If you continue with Google we receive your Google account ID, your name and your verified email address. We also store your plan, role, email verification status and the time of your last sign-in.

Content you create. Your projects (pages, design settings and text), uploaded images and other media, saved sections, templates you create, and the data of forms you add to your own websites if you use the form features in the builder.

Technical information. Our servers record standard request information such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, used for security, abuse prevention and fixing errors. We keep security and administration audit logs of actions on accounts.

Messages. If you contact support, we keep your message and our reply.

Optional Google Search Console connection. If you choose to connect it, see section 4.

3. How we use information

  • To provide the service: sign you in, save and export your projects, send transactional emails (verification, password reset, account and plan notices).
  • To keep the service secure: detect abuse, protect accounts, enforce limits and investigate incidents.
  • To improve and support the service: diagnose errors and answer your questions.
  • To meet legal obligations.

Our legal bases are performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running and securing the service, your consent where we ask for it (for example the optional Search Console connection), and legal obligation.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for advertising.

4. Google user data and Google Search Console

If you sign in with Google we use your Google profile only to create or find your AlinaWeb account.

If you choose “Connect Google Search Console” in SEO Studio we request one read-only permission: View Search Console data for your verified sites (webmasters.readonly). We cannot change anything in your Search Console. With it we read search performance data (clicks, impressions, click-through rate, average position, pages and search queries) for the properties you pick, and the list of properties you can access.

We use this data only to show it to you inside SEO Studio and to suggest SEO improvements for your own website. We store an encrypted refresh token, your Google account email and a temporary cache of report results (refreshed about every 6 hours). We do not share this data with anyone, do not use it for advertising and do not allow people to read it, except where needed for security, to comply with the law or with your consent.

You can disconnect at any time with “Disconnect” in SEO Studio, which revokes our access at Google and deletes the stored token and cached data. You can also revoke access in your Google Account permissions.

AlinaWeb’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. Who we share information with

We share data only with service providers that help us run AlinaWeb, under appropriate agreements, and only what they need:

  • Hosting and infrastructure providers that run our servers and backups.
  • An email delivery provider (Brevo) that sends transactional emails on our behalf.
  • Google, when you sign in with Google or connect Search Console.

AI-assist features in the builder run on a model operated on our own infrastructure; the text you enter is not sent to an external AI provider. The “AI Handoff” feature only prepares files for you to download.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users and service. If AlinaWeb is involved in a merger or acquisition, we will tell you before personal data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

6. Cookies and local storage

We use only what is needed to run the service and remember your choices:

  • Session cookie (visual_builder_session): keeps you signed in and protects forms against forgery. It expires when the session ends or after a short period of inactivity.
  • Language cookie (aw_lang): remembers whether you chose English or Albanian.
  • Browser storage (local storage): remembers interface preferences such as dark mode, panel layout and sidebar state, and, when you use the builder as a guest, a local draft. This stays on your device.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If we add analytics in the future we will update this page.

7. How long we keep data

We keep account information and projects while your account is active. You can delete projects and media yourself in the builder. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data, except what we must keep for legal or security reasons, and it disappears from backups when those backups expire. Security and audit logs are kept for a limited period needed for protection and investigations. Cached Search Console data is deleted when you disconnect.

8. Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls, rate limiting and encrypted storage for connection tokens. No online service is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us promptly if you suspect misuse of your account.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to certain processing, receive a portable copy and withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. To exercise a right, email support@alinaweb.net from the address of your account. We may need to verify your identity first.

10. Children

AlinaWeb is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. International transfers

We and our service providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service changes. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you by email or in the app before they take effect.
